After cruising the world famous Canal du Midi, guests can now round off their holiday with a stay at this magnificent Chateau situated just 2 miles from our boat base at Capestang.   The Château les Carrasses is a 19^th century wine domaine, now sympathetically renovated to create an outstanding estate with accommodation and an impressive range of facilities. The Chateau was featured in Harpers Bazaar “Travel Top 100″ destinations.

Around two main courtyards, linked by a central avenue, are the buildings traditionally found on an important wine domain: the château, the winery and cellars, the blacksmith’s house, stables, forge and granary and the estate cottages, all of which have been transformed into a truly special holiday estate. Beyond these exceptional suites, apartments, houses and villas, you’ll find a great range of facilities. There is an infinity pool, tennis court, conservatory, orchard, and olive grove.

In the brasserie stylish Mediterranean cuisine is served using fresh local ingredients. Meals are served in the beautifully restored salon with its cast iron pillars and vaulted ceilings or on the superb terrace with spectacular views over the estate and surrounding countryside.  

Accommodation is in suites, apartments or villas in the grounds, with options for 2-8 people. Properties are individually designed with fully-equipped kitchen and air conditioning. Bordering the Chablis vineyards, St Florentin is the ideal starting point for a leisurely cruise through the beautiful countryside of Burgundy.

This small bustling town has many good restaurants, a regular market showcasing local produce and a number of antique shops, making it a great place for a spot of retail therapy before you start your journey.

The town centre itself is dominated by the charming 16^th Century church with its striking stained glass windows. Saint Florentin also boasts an ancient Priory which is well worth the uphill walk if only for the breathtaking views of the valley below.

From Saint Florentin, you can head South-West through the green pastures and picturesque villages of the Yonne and then onwards to the ancient town of Auxerre.
